Our Stage School was developed to train young professional actors to the highest standard with expert specialist teachers. Join the ensemble for our three hour weekly class and expand your skillset in Musical Theatre, Film & TV and Acting & LAMDA!
Every week our performers get trained by a musical theatre specialist, building their skills in singing, dance and performing with music. Each term our actors are challenged learning a new dance style ranging from Jazz and Contemporary to Street Dance and commercial. We thrive to train our performers to be comfortable picking up new styles, enjoying learning new dances and bringing in their acting skills in mini performances. Alongside their dance training our actors are taught further singing skills focusing on solo singing, harmonies, choral singing and improving their range. Each year our specialist will select new songs and styles to keep our actors skills fresh and new! By the end of year the trainees are able to apply all of their skills in a final end of year Musical!
Alongside their Musical Theatre training our actors embark on acting training. Being able to separate the two, actors are able to delve deeper into acting styles, training techniques and creative thinking. Each year our actors are given the opportunity to focus on projects to build their skillsets and learn about themselves as actors. A real focus is put on working as an ensemble and learning how to harbour individual creative ideas. Projects range from comedy scenes, devising, improvisation, scene studies and more!
Once a year our actors are also able to work towards LAMDA Exams, though exams are not compulsory, our trainees are able to work on a solo or duo piece to focus on their skillset with 1-2-1 attention from their director. At the end of the exam process children will be given the opportunity to take part in the exam, and perform a showcase of the pieces to family and friends.
The final string to our Stage School bow is our Film & TV sector, unique to the classic stage school training our film & TV training allows students to harbour skills both in front of and behind the camera. In hourly sessions our performers learn the intricacies of working with technology, directing pieces, editing and acting for screen. Each year our actors have multiple opportunities to work on screen from creating their own comedy short films, trailers, music videos, silent movies, mockumentarys and more! Alongside their project the performers are able to use green screen to add to their end of year musicals meaning all of their skills can be put to the test! We love seeing their creativity shine!
